Types of Matches for the Year.

We are looking at the following:

1. Short Range Courses - essentially Standard 25-50-75 meter exercises with a twist. Mostly fixed time but we may have score over time in some instances. Starting position will be port arms. Four to five traditional shooting positions with and with out barricades, etc. . Minimal running. Emphasis will be on fundamentals. Good beginner course. Monthly competitions. (newbies will be allowed on this course)
   
2. Medium Range Courses - 25- 100-200 meter shooting with a lot of movement - mostly score over time. An Intermediate course where safety is important (eventually when we have settled in and Identified our members who are safe and aware of the rules - only LRRP bonafide members will be allowed - safety reasons) Can be a combination of paper and Steel. Shoot and scoot and shoot scenarious, shooting through tunnels, shooting from ledges or simulated roof tops, etc. Focus is on allowing shooter to choose the best option in taking the shot in various non traditional positions.
   
3. Long Range Courses - 100-200-300-400 meters from mostly prone. Minimal movement. Focus is on Long Range Shooting fundamental
   

At the Nationals we will have all three plus an additional one which will incorporate all three types into one complete multi range course with movement through short range type engagements, a medium type one, ending with a long range engagement.

With this matches one can be champion in the short range courses, medium range courses, long range courses, or the multi range course.
For those that cannot run - they will have the option of the short range and the long range courses. With the type of matches we will be promoting one will be able to choose if one wishes to specialize or if one wants to go through the whole system and become a very agile and adept long range rimfire shooter.

400 m would be pushing the envelope too much. There are no ranges with this distance where we could practice. Maybe Sailor could arrange for a practice session on a facility with this distance. Thanks.

Please note that 400 is pushing the envelope - we currently have shooters hitting out to 300 meters specially in the provinces. Have been looking at different places for this. As of this point in time - the range that can handle this is Splendido but access is by appointment and permission with boss Jack. Am currently arranging stuff with him to grant us access.
